Learn how to add sound to your videos.
So you've got your HouseReels video ready to go, but it's missing that extra oomph: sound! Whether it's catchy music, funny voiceovers, or sound effects, audio can elevate your video from good to great. We recommend either a catchy song, or a great voiceover to get your video out there! Luckily, both TikTok and Instagram offer easy ways to add sound to your silent masterpiece.
Adding Audio Magic on TikTok:
Record or Upload Your Silent Video: Open TikTok and upload your HouseReels video.
Find Your Perfect Sound: Tap the "Sounds" button on the left side of your screen. Here, you'll discover a vast library of trending sounds, music, and voiceovers.
Pick Your Favorite: Browse the categories or search for a specific sound using the search bar. Once you find the audio that complements your video, tap on it.
Adjust and Edit (Optional): You can trim the sound to fit your video or adjust its volume using the editing tools on the screen.
Record Your Video with Sound: With the chosen audio playing in the background, hit the red record button and film your video clips to match the sound.
Adding Audio Flair on Instagram Reels:
Open the Reels Tab: Swipe right from the Instagram home screen or tap the "+" icon and select "Reels" at the bottom.
Upload Your Silent Video: Tap the gallery icon in the bottom left corner and choose your video.
Spice it Up with Sound: Tap the "Music" sticker icon at the top of the screen. Here, you can explore Instagram's music library or import your own audio files.
Importing the Perfect Track: Select "Browse music" to explore or tap "Use audio from video" if you want to extract sound from another Instagram video (yours or someone else's with permission).
Line Up the Audio: Use the waveform to position the audio where you want it in your video. You can also trim the audio to match your video length.
Record with Audio (Optional): If you want to add voiceovers or narration, tap the record button and speak while your video plays.
Pro-Tip: Remember to credit the original creator if you're using someone else's sound!
